Gospel text (Mathew 18,12-14): Jesus said to his disciples, «What do you think of this? If someone has a hundred sheep and one of them strays, won't he leave the ninety-nine on the hillside, and go to look for the stray one? And I tell you: when he finally finds it, he is more pleased about it than about the ninety-nine that did not get lost. It is the same with your Father in heaven: there they don't want even one of these little ones to be lost».

Common Good

It is often found commentaries that describe common good as extremes of anarchy, as expressions that on one end present a justification for system interference and on the other as an idea of omnipotence over the people who is typically labeled as mediocre and incapable of deciding on their own about their matters and circumstances. However, common good is divine a mandate we all have as individuals; to aim for and to work towards. Coming elections

As the time to present the budget approaches and given the ‘risk’ of engaging yet another election, perhaps it is important to reflect on how Canada is working and how our government is servicing the people. Without idealism, the government is supposed to be by the people and for the people, or more clearly put, the government and all of its members serve the people not the other way around, because governments are made by the people.
